I know that we are not on Whidbey Island anymore, but I don't think I showed you any pictures from Coupeville.
Coupeville is the 2nd oldest town in Washington and it feels old and historic.
This town was one of our favorite ones to visit. We went as often as we could. It was only about 15 minutes from Oak Harbor.
In one of those historic looking buildings is an amazing ice cream shop. They make their own waffle cones and it makes the entire street smell soooo good.
The Coupeville Wharf is, of course, also historic. It's on Penn Cove, which is famous for its mussel farms.
The wharf now houses a cafe and a gift shop.
View of Penn Cove and Coupeville from the other side of the cove.
Hanging out with a peg-legged captain of short-stature. He looks friendly enough though.
Our exploration of all the libraries on the island led us here,
to the Coupeville Libary.
"The surrounding country presented a delightful prospect." Vancouver's Journal 1792
We miss Coupville... and Oak Harbor... and all of Whidbey Island. We feel very blessed to have had the past 3 months there.

What a great place to visit! The kids are really lucky to have a mommy and daddy who likes to explore new places. Can't wait to see what you all discover around Beaverton! Have fun! I wonder if we will see pictures of the kids around the temple?
