Field trip to the Ocean

We had an awesome field trip to the coast on Saturday! I absolutely LOVE the ocean. And we all had so much fun. Our wonderful friends from Corvallis joined us, which is one big reason it was so great. Their 4 children are so amazing. All the kids played great together, digging in the wet sand, splashing in the waves, exploring the rocks, looking for Sea Stars and barnacles, and running, running, running.

We had some other friends from Forest Grove, with their children, come and join us for a while too. We loved it. More friends to splash around with.

We built a fire and roasted hot dogs. Nothing beats a campfire at the ocean. It was one of the best days of our entire summer. It was warm and sunny at the beach too! We left our house at 10 in the morning and didn't get back home until 10 at night.

And I took ZERO pictures. (Big frowny face, here). The above pictures are actually from a trip to the coast a couple of years ago.

We brought two cameras, but we didn't really want to take our nice, big camera down onto the sand and surf. So we were going to take our smaller one, but in the hustle and bustle of gathering our things to walk down to the beach, the camera got left behind. And it would have been a bit of a walk to go back up to the car and get it. Nobody wanted to leave the ocean for that long.

So we will have to savor the day in our memories... and go back and do it all over again as soon as we can.
